Amal Clooney at Risk of US Entry

Posted on May 3, 2025 admin By admin No Comments on Amal Clooney at Risk of US Entry

Amal Clooney, a leading human rights lawyer, was part of an eight-member panel appointed by the International Criminal Court (ICC) to review arrest warrants for senior Israeli and Hamas leaders accused of committing war crimes during the Israel-Gaza conflict. The panel, which included several top British legal experts,

unanimously concluded that there was enough evidence to support the charges, including against Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant. In response, former U.S. President Donald Trump issued sanctions against,

ICC prosecutor Karim Khan and warned that further actions could be taken against others involved in the case, including potentially barringClooney from entering the United States. The British government also alerted its lawyers to the risks of working with the ICC on this matter. Following public speculation and criticism,

Clooney released a personal statement affirming her belief in the rule of law and the need to protect civilians in conflict zones. She emphasized that justice should apply equally to all, and that no one—regardless of position or country—should be above the law.
