A small plane crashed into a residential area in Simi Valley, California, on May 3, 2025, killing the pilot, a passenger, and a dog onboard. The aircraft, a Vans RV-10, had departed from Lancaster and was en route to Camarillo when it went down,
in the Wood Ranch neighborhood. The plane struck the backyard and dining room of Arman and Armineh Hovakemian’s home just moments after Arman rushed inside with their dog. Miraculously, the couple escaped unharmed. Another nearby home was also damaged,
and two dogs remain missing after escaping during the chaos.Witnesses described the plane circling low before the crash. Security footage shows it flying erratically before plummeting. The FAA and NTSB are investigating,
with findings expected to take over a year. First responders quickly contained the fire. Thankfully, no residents or firefighters were injured.This incident comes just weeks after another fatal small-plane crash in Minnesota, raising growing concerns over aviation safety.
