Rosie O’Donnell didn’t just unfollow Donald Trump — she packed her bags and left the country.
Now living in Ireland, the outspoken comedian isn’t holding back when it comes to the former president and the 2024 election. In a fiery new TikTok, Rosie dropped some bombs that’s lighting up social media:
“It’s very obvious that it was [rigged],” she said.
As most people have probably caught on by now,Rosie O’Donnell has officially left the country. The former View co-host and daytime TV icon packed up and moved to Ireland earlier this year, and according to her, there’s one main reason behind the transatlantic move: Donald J. Trump.

O’Donnell, who’s been publicly feuding with Trump since 2006 (back when Twitter still had eggs for profile pics), says she simply couldn’t stomach another four years under his presidency. So, after he defeated Kamala Harris in the 2024 election, she didn’t just vent on TikTok. She booked a one-way ticket out of the U.S.
“I left on January 15,” O’Donnell confirmed, “just five days before his inauguration.”
Now living abroad and embracing her Irish roots — her grandparents were from the Emerald Isle — Rosie has started the process of applying for Irish citizenship. But leaving the country hasn’t meant leaving the conversation. Far from it.
”That was a good thing”
In a fiery TikTok posted May 12, the 62-year-old star of A League of Their Own let loose on her old nemesis, calling the 2024 election “very obviously” rigged.
“If he admits one more time that the election was rigged… I mean why is he allowed to admit this over and over again and no one does anything about it?” she asked her followers.
O’Donnell didn’t point to a specific quote, but her remarks echo what many critics have noticed about Trump’s uncanny ability to, well, overshare. Back in March, Trump told a crowd:
“They rigged the election and I became president, so that was a good thing.”
Many viewers assumed he was talking about the 2024 presidential election, while others believed he meant the 2020 election that Joe Biden won.
Adding fuel to the fire, Trump thanked Elon Musk for his supposed tech help. At a victory rally in Washington, D.C., on January 19, 2025, Trump made a statement that left conspiracy theorists buzzing and critics raising eyebrows:
“He knows those computers better than anybody, all those computers, those vote counting computers. And we ended up winning Pennsylvania like, in a landslide, so it was pretty good, it was pretty good. So, thank you to Elon.”
”He keeps saying it..”
Despite beating Kamala Harris by only 1.5% of the popular vote, Trump continues to boast about a “landslide victory.”
And while there’s been no credible evidence of election tampering — and certainly no legal challenges holding water — Rosie isn’t convinced.
“It’s very obvious that it was [rigged] and he keeps saying it because he has some form of dementia or something that he can’t help but tell on himself for what he’s done, as he has always,” she said. “It’s very, very overwhelming.”
This isn’t just political for Rosie — it’s personal.
Back in March, she explained her emotional decision to leave the country, saying:
“When it is safe for all citizens to have equal rights there in America, that’s when we will consider coming back. It’s been heartbreaking to see what’s happening politically and hard for me personally as well. The personal is political, as we all know.”
So, while Rosie O’Donnell may be enjoying the rolling green hills of Ireland, her stance on American politics is as fiery — and as personal — as ever. And if Donald Trump thought she’d go quiet, well… he clearly doesn’t know Rosie.
