Ghislaine Maxwell, 63, remains the only individual behind bars in connection to Jeffrey Epstein’s vast s-x trafficking network — a network that, according to widespread allegations, exploited dozens of underage girls over many years.
Maxwell is currently serving a 20-year sentence after her 2022 conviction for helping Epstein s-xually abuse and traffic underage girls, often luring them into his orbit and facilitating their exploitation over the span of a decade.
Yet despite the scope of Epstein’s alleged crimes and the number of high-profile names linked to him, no one else has faced criminal accountability.
Now, a source close to Maxwell claims that she has never been approached by government officials to provide information.
“Despite the rumors, Ghislaine was never offered any kind of plea deal,” the source told DailyMail.com. “She would be more than happy to sit before Congress and tell her story. No one from the government has ever asked her to share what she knows. She remains the only person to be jailed in connection to Epstein, and she would welcome the chance to tell the American public the truth.”
What that “truth” might entail remains unclear. While Maxwell’s legal team has long argued she has been made a scapegoat for Epstein’s crimes, the court found her guilty of multiple counts related to recruiting and grooming minor girls for Epstein’s abuse.
Her legal battle continues behind bars.
Recently, Maxwell’s attorneys asked the U.S. Supreme Court to review her conviction, arguing that she should never have been prosecuted in the first place because of a 2008 non-prosecution agreement Epstein struck with Florida prosecutors.
But in a filing this week, the Justice Department—under Attorney General Pam Bondi, appointed by President Donald Trump—urged the high court to reject the case, maintaining that the agreement was specific to Epstein and does not apply to Maxwell.
The DOJ’s firm stance suggests that despite her legal efforts and alleged willingness to testify, the government has no intention of cutting Maxwell any deals.
Whether Maxwell ever publicly “tells her story” or reveals more about the powerful people once within Epstein’s inner circle remains to be seen. For now, she sits alone as the only person imprisoned in one of the most notorious s-x trafficking scandals in modern U.S. history.
