The 31-year-old activist’s assassination left behind his wife Erika, their two young children, and a nation in shock. Erika and the kids were with him at Utah Valley University the day of the shooting but escaped unharmed. Hours earlier, she had posted Psalm 46:1: “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.” Friends recall a man whose greatest joy was at home. “He loved his wife and kids.
