At 3:47 a.m., I hit “send.” And by now… he’d read it. The email wasn’t long, just a few lines, but it carried the weight of years. Years of silent endurance and unacknowledged devotion. “I won’t stay where I’m unseen,” it read. “Where my love is taken for granted. Last night, I realized it’s time for change.”

For years, I’d placed his happiness above my own, convinced it was a mother’s duty. But as I watched him stand at the altar, a man now, it dawned on me that my sacrifices had become invisible, mere footnotes in his story.

The hours dragged on, each tick of the clock stretching into eternity. It wasn’t until afternoon that my phone buzzed gently against the wooden table. His name lit up the screen, accompanied by a message I wasn’t sure I was ready to read. But I owed it to both of us to try.
