Being a single dad to three-year-old twin girls, Bella and Lily, has been the hardest challenge of my life. Their mom left when they were babies, and since then, it’s been just the three of us. At the store, I met a kind older woman who complimented my twins and suggested I check out an old washing machine in the corner. It was beat-up but affordable, so I bought it. When I got home and tried to use it, the drum wouldn’t spin. Frustrated, I opened it up and found a small cardboard box wedged inside. Inside the box were two house keys and an address, along with a note: “For you and your children. — M.” My heart pounded as I realized it might be connected to the woman I’d met at the shop.
