Slowly, with each passing day, Eli and I began to rebuild. We were haunted by nightmares and shadows of the past, but we took solace in each other. Our bond, forged in shared trauma, was unbreakable.

We found strength in survival, in the kindness of people like Mrs. Leverne, and in the resilience we didn’t know we possessed. The road ahead was uncertain, but together, we would navigate it, one step at a time.

And as for Jared? The justice system would take care of him. I was done looking back. Our future, though scarred, was ours to shape—and fiercely, defiantly, we embraced it.
