Over the summer, the White House said Trump was diagnosed with chronic venous insufficiency, after he was seen with deep bruises on his hand and swollen legs.
Chronic venous insufficiency, is common in older adults. Treatment typically can include wearing compression stockings, elevating legs, or minor procedures on affected veins or surgery in more severe cases.
The letter Friday did not provide an update on the vein condition.
