A Nashville resident, the young actor graduated from Middle Tennessee State University with a degree in business before breaking into acting. She recently played Julie in the pilot episode of ABC’s latest 9-1-1 spinoff.
According to reports, she was part of filming back in June, with the episode that aired on October 6 marking the beginning of a promising career.
Tate suffered from Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease, an inherited progressive neurological disorder that confined her to a wheelchair.
Her agent told TMZ that the disease affected her legs but can also affect internal organs such as the lungs and heart. As a result of her condition, Tate had reportedly given up on her dream of acting until she landed the aforementioned 9-1-1: Nashville role.
