Former San Francisco Giants pitcher Tyler Walker has flown to Texas with his wife and friends to search for his missing brother Mark, sister-in-law Sara, and 14-year-old nephew Johnny. The three disappeared when their vacation home on the Guadalupe River was destroyed in the devastating Fourth of July floods.
Walker also rescued his 16-year-old niece, Ellie, who survived at a nearby summer camp. Their mother, Kathy Walker, says the family is devastated and waiting for a miracle. “It’s just so much devastation… everything is piled up,” Tyler told her during the search.
Governor Gavin Newsom confirmed the family’s disappearance, noting that they were close with many in Marin County, California. Ellie is now staying with friends but remains heartbroken.

The family’s vacation home was completely destroyed. Across Texas, at least 120 people have died and over 170 remain missing, mostly in Kerr County.
